The German Packaging Ordinance (Verpackungsverordnung - VerpackV) January 1, 2009, has the purpose to avoid and to reduce the environmental impacts of waste arising from packaging. It sets the minimum packaging quota for reusable drink packaging and one-way packaging containers deemed ‘ecological advantageous’ must be namely 80%. Given that plastic bags are easy to use and very practical, people tend to overuse them and thus contribute to the production of more plastic waste. People consume them and them abandom them on the street, don´t deposit the remains in the right container. CICLOPLAST has decided to address not necessarily the issues of plastic bags and its malicious impact on the environment, but mainly the inadequate conduct people show in respect of plastic bags consumption.

30/04/2012 - According to sustainability experts involved in the Olympic Park construction programme, London 2012 organisers have missed a significant reuse opportunity. A lack of specific reuse targets meant that contractors were not incentivised to reclaim certain materials such as brick and steel from the demolition process.
