02.03.2012 - The LIFE programme - the EU’s funding instrument for the environment - will celebrate its 20th anniversary in May this year (2012). In order to celebrate this event properly, the LIFE units warmly invite all LIFE projects, past or present, to organise an open day in May and communicate to stakeholders, local public and media about LIFE projects they are involved in.

2.02.2012 - The European Commission launched a public consultation in 2011 asking for individuals and businesses to give their views on whether the European Union should tax or altogether ban plastic carrier bags in order to tackle rising levels of plastic waste.
