On 12 – 15 June, in Rennes, Irstea is co-organising the 8th ORBIT Conference on Global Assessment for Organic Resources and Waste Management. This major reunion aims to present the global context of waste management today, with a special focus on the assessment of environmental, social and economical tools.

180 presentations from more than 30 countries, a poster session, and an exhibition will cover topics such as EU policies and strategies for sustainable organic resources and waste management, Climate Change, Waste Management Assessment and Decision Tools, Local organic waste collection and management, and various forms of bio-waste treatment. Technical visits to an organic waste treatment plant, a workshop “From Waste to Product – Sustainable Management of Organic Resources in Europe”, and a lively social programme complete the event.
